The Donald Romeo Community School is the brain child of Mr and Mrs Donald Romeo. It is located in rural Kenya in the western part of the country, in Kakamega County.
The school was founded to give poor children in rural Kenya an opportunity to get a Christian education while simultaneously taking the opportunity to evangelize to the community. The school is based on the Seventh Day Adventist faith and seeks to spread the word of God to the students and the community in which it is based.
The school has been performing very well in the National Examinations and enjoys considerable respect from the community, the surrounding schools, and the local officials of the Ministry of Education.
Whereas it continues to experience challenges in terms of resources, the Directors, the Board of Management, and the School management and staff continue to show a sense of commitment to the school that can only suggest that the good Lord is in control.
It is my pleasure in my capacity as the Chair of the Board of Management for the School to welcome you to this website.
Alexander L. Alusa
Chair, B.O.M.
Thank you for the interest and support of the Donald Romeo Community School project which forms Part of Good Health for Africa aims and objectives.
DRCS is mixed day and boarding school running from ECD to grade eight.
Our current enrolment is 334 pupils an upsurge of about 80 pupils from the two previous years. This has come about as a result of the exemplary performance and unique school's perfomance. Our boarding enrolment is 80 pupils.
Since its establishment (in 2004), the school has seen many excel not only academically but morally and spirituality. The school instills spiritual values in learners as the Bible is our Key text book. It is because of this that we have consistently excelled hence the school motto 'In God we excel’
DRCS has been performing well since the year 2007 when it began sitting for the National Examinations. We have always been among the best four schools in Kakamega County. For instance, for the year 2020 the school managed a meanscore of 327 out of 500 marks. Our best candidate had 400 marks out of this.
DRCS has 14 teachers with 13 support staff members. Our Motto as a staff has always been 'United we stand' and indeed has borne positive consequences for the school.
Once again, I thank you and welcome you to our website.
